Ingredients:

For the Ham:

  • 1 fully cooked, bone-in ham (about 8 to 10 pounds)

  • Whole cloves (optional, for studding the ham)

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup honey

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 2 teaspoons ground cardamom

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

  • 1 orange, zest and juice

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). If the ham is not pre-sliced, score the ham in a diamond pattern, and if desired, stud with cloves.

  2. Prepare the Glaze: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, brown sugar, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, mustard, orange zest, and orange juice. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is smooth.

  3. Initial Baking: Place the ham on a rack in a roasting pan. Cover with foil and bake for about 1 1/2 hours.

  4. Glaze the Ham: Remove the ham from the oven and increase the oven temperature to 400°F (204°C). Brush the ham generously with the glaze. Return to the oven and bake uncovered for an additional 30 minutes, glazing every 10 minutes.

  5. Rest and Serve: Let the ham rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm with extra glaze on the side.
